Bee Magic Chronicles

I always loved writing and when I was young I used to write stories and illustrate them. Of course all my stories had to have animals in them because I loved them so much.

Then I grew up and got a job and writing became something I thought about only on occasion. Now, many years later I wanted to take up writing again and I knew that I wanted to write children's books. But about what? I thought and thought about what I would write about. Of course I knew the story would have to have animals in it because I still loved them so much. I had trouble deciding which animals I was going to write about.

I had rediscovered a childhood hobby of observing butterflies and insects and I finally decided I would take a beekeeping course because I always wanted to get into beekeeping. Well, as soon as I started reading about honey bees it didn't take long to decide that I would write about them.

The more I read, the more fascinating they became. Never has a creature captured my imagination as much as this humble little insect that creates wonderous food for humans.

After that it only took a few minutes and I had the idea for the whole story. Once I started writing it was as if the story took off on its own and wrote itself. I can't remember another time when I've had so much fun as when writing about Lacy the honey bee. Of course, I just had to illustrate the story as well so I did drawings and watercolour paintings to go with the book.

Currently I'm editing The Bee Magic Chronicles and then I hope to find an agent. In the mean time my bees keep me very busy and I've learned a lot. I share tons of cool info that I've learned in the Bee-Magic Chronicles for Kids. One thing you can be sure of is that there's lots of animals in my story. That's because I love them so very much.
